Roxie is the smallest adult Silken at Kumbaya. She is just over 20" tall and weighs 21 lbs. Roxie is co-owned with Masako Teshima
When my father was staying with us while he was in hospice care Roxie 'adopted' him. She checked on Dad frequently and my Dad inquired about Roxie. He called her his black fox and gave her the nickname Foxie Roxie.
Roxie has the most interesting color markings of any of our Silkens. She is actually an Irish marked silver brindle with a black blanket overlaying her Irish marked pattern. We know she is Irish marked because her parents are and there is a small white spot on the back of her neck. This black blanket overlay sometimes shows up as a smaller saddle marking on other dogs. Masako has told me they refer to this type marking in Japan as a turtle marking because it is like a turtle shell covering the rest of the body.
Roxie wins Best Female at UKC show
This little girl loves to show and show off. In this photo she won Best Female award at one of the UKC shows following the Lone Star Classic Specialty. She is very outgoing, fun to have around and reminds us a lot of her mother Dita
