Silken Windhound males
People often have a preference on whether to have a male or female dog. There are valid points for these individual preferences but we don't think you can go wrong with either sex in this breed. Males never come into season but hike their leg when they pee and can seem to have lost their mind when they are around females in season. Silken Windhound females tend to be more aloof and independent than males so that means they aren't under your feet or clamoring for your attention. Both sexes are usually equally avid runners with the males often being more powerful. Either sex can be major cuddle bugs. Males tend to be more attentive and willing to please while the females may need some coaxing and reward. We often say we have kitchen dogs and bedroom dogs. The males like to hang out in the kitchen, laying on the cool tile floor and are always available to assist with any cooking duty just in case there is a free handout. Our females often lounge on the bed or the sofa in a group waiting for their human master to accompany them. Both sexes get along very well together.
Good thing he's a fast runner
Catch me. Catch me. Loki being chased by 2 black Great Danes on the beach at Fort Funston in California. He thought this was great fun and loves to be the bunny in these games of chase.
